This year marks the City of Ludlow's Sesquicentennial and to celebrate, the City has planned a year full of events to honor Ludlow's heritage and lasting legacy. The 150th celebration will begin February 20, 2014, at a kickoff event hosted by the City of Ludlow and the historic Ludlow Theatre; included will be an exhibit on Ludlow's history, including many interesting views, photographs and actual items from Ludlow, including pages from Ludlow's old Council Record Books in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

The exhibits will be organized chronologically by periods, including: the Early Development of the City (1800-1864); the Founding of Ludlow and the Arrival of the Railway (1864-1890); Turn-of-the-Century Ludlow and the Lagoon Amusement Park (1890s-1920); Early 20th Century Ludlow to the Centennial Celebration (1920s-1964); and Modern Ludlow (1964-present). Join us for an evening of music, refreshments, and reminiscing as we begin our sesquicentennial celebration. The event is open to the public and will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Historic Ludlow Theatre, 322 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY.
