The Building/Zoning Department is responsible for administering and enforcing current Kentucky Building Codes and the ordinances coinciding with these codes. 

The duties of the Building/Zoning Department include, but are not limited to:

* Advise City committees/boards regarding code ordinances

* Approving Permits and setting their Fees

* Code Enforcement Board Duties

* General inspections regarding code ordinances

* Provide zoning information

Services: The Building/Zoning Department is available for assistance Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Committees/Boards Overview: 

*Code Enforcement Board: Responsible for enforcing Kentucky Building Codes and regulations within the city limits. 

*Historic Preservation Board: Responsible for enforcing codes/regulations pertaining to the Downtown Historic District.

*Board of Adjustments: Responsible for addressing applications for variances, conditional use permits, interpreting codes, and changes of codes.
