Now Hiring--Full-Time Code Enforcement Officer


CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The City of Ludlow, KY is currently accepting applications for the full-time Code Enforcement Officer position.  This position is organized in accordance with KRS 83A.087 and provides support to Code Enforcement through basic investigation, responding to complaints, and issuing of citations.  This position reports directly to the City Administrative Officer and works directly with citizens and other city staff to resolve problems or conflicts that may arise in the city.

Essential Functions:  Receive, track, and respond to Code Enforcement complaints; Conduct site visits to determine if Code Enforcement violations exist; Inspect properties to determine compliance with applicable development code standards; Prepare and issue notices of violation, citations, and lien documents related to Code Enforcement; Prepare monthly reports for Council; Enforce rental licenses; Communicate effectively with city staff and residents; Establish effective working relationships with Planning and Development Services of Kenton County (PDS), Urban Design Review Board (UDRB), and Kenton County Joint Code Enforcement Board.  

Desirable Training and Experience:  High school diploma or GED required.  Any combination of education, training, and experience in construction, building trade, real estate, or a closely related field which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:  Must possess excellent organizational, administrative, and oral and written communication skills and a strong attention to detail; Ability to operate basic office equipment; Ability to use various software applications, including code enforcement tracking software and spreadsheets, to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports and type routine correspondence; Ability to respond effectively to most inquiries or complaints; Ability to maintain records through filing, retrieval, retention, and storage; Ability to read, understand, apply, and enforce General Regulations as defined in the City Code of Ordinances; Other duties as may be assigned.

Salary & Benefits:  Salary Range:  $45,000 - $54,000, based on knowledge and experience.  Excellent benefit package.
