Now Hiring--Part-time Public Works Laborer

PART-TIME PUBLIC WORKS LABORER

The City of Ludlow, KY is currently accepting applications for the part-time Public Works Laborer position.  Opportunity for growth into a full-time position with comprehensive benefits after a successful probationary period based on performance and department needs.  Responsibilities include street maintenance, building maintenance, park maintenance, and general repair assignments.

Requirements Include:  Ability to lift objects in excess of 25 pounds on a regular basis, ability to safely operate motorized equipment to perform labor tasks.  Work is usually performed outdoors.  Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. 

Desirable Training and Experience:  Graduation from high school, or equivalency, supplemented by basic experience in the performance of various manual labor, repair and maintenance activities in the field of construction; some experience and/or training in the operation of commonly used power tools and heavy machinery implements; or any combination of experience and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:  Must be able to safely operate hand tools, small and heavy power tools, and motorized equipment to perform simple labor tasks; Ability to follow instruction in order to accomplish simple work tasks; Knowledge of occupational hazards and proper safety precautions.

Salary:  $16.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications.
