The Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD) will be flushing fire hydrants in Ludlow from March 30, 2026, through April 3, 2026, as part of routine water system maintenance. By opening the fire hydrants and releasing water, NKWD cycles water from the distribution (water main) system ensuring the system is operating properly and water quality remains optimal. Flushing is done between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
If you notice any water discoloration, NKWD recommends running cold water for several minutes. Avoid washing light colored laundry until the water clears. Customers may also experience air sputtering from the faucet during flushing.
