The Ludlow City Council will hold a public hearing and special meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. CT to increase the existing special ad valorem tax for fire protection and emergency services. If Council approves an ordinance increasing the special ad valorem tax, the issue will be placed on the November ballot for a referendum vote. Council will hear comments at the public meeting about the proposed increase to the existing special ad valorem tax.
At the special meeting, Council will have the first reading to increase the special ad valorem tax for fire protection and emergency services. Council may consider increasing the rate from $.1750 on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars value of real estate personal and mixed property to $.2000 on each One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars value of real estate personal and mixed property. Council may also consider increasing the rate to a different amount after hearing comments at the public hearing. Council will also consider a resolution to authorize a contract with Infinite Hills Production to coordinate and produce the Ludlow Rail Sessions and a resolution to authorize a contract with Kentucky Legal of Cities to develop a strategic plan for the City. Council will hear comments from the public on published agenda items only.
