Rental Property Licenses Due April 15, 2017

The City of Ludlow has made several changes in the rental property license program that go into effect beginning with the 2017 rental year.  The first change you will notice is the application, which is in a totally new format.  Please do not submit last year’s application; doing so will result in the application being returned to you.  Click here for a copy of the rental license application.

Please note that the entire application must be filled out, FRONT AND BACK, with all spaces filled-in where required--no exceptions--and signed.  If any of the spaces are left blank, the application will be returned to you along with your payment.  If the application is not re-submitted to the City entirely filled out before the deadline, then it will be considered delinquent and a Notice of Violation or Citation will be issued for not having a current rental license.

Another major change this year is in the fee schedule.  City Council passed Ordinance 2016-8, which charges a non-refundable $100.00 application fee for each parcel plus a $25.00 fee for each unit in a building.  The number of units in a building cannot exceed the number allowed by zoning regulations.

Any business, corporation, or LLC that has a registered agent is required to have that person referenced on the application so they can be contacted in case there are any problems at the property.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Ludlow Municipal Office at (859) 491-1233 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
